At the 2021 MAWS Conference, a motion was approved to send ballots to “all registered MA groups” to vote on changing references from God to Higher Power in the short form Steps and Traditions. A yes vote of at least ¾ of the returned ballots will be required to approve this change. The administrative work is being completed to send the ballots out. (updated 6-1-22)

The long awaited Marijuana Anonymous daily reflections book has been released in draft format for use and review by the membership!
Living Every Day with Hope is a series of daily reflections written by marijuana addicts so readers might find inspiration in their recovery. There is a reflection for each day of the year, referencing a short quote from MA Conference–approved literature. The Literature Committee wants your content suggestions, comments and questions. You can find the draft at marijuana-anonyous.org/daily-reflections/.

The Public Service Announcement (PSA) Subcommittee of the Marijuana Anonymous World Services (MAWS) Public Information (PI) Committee is working on creating PSA videos. We are seeking audio recordings from MA members who are willing to participate. By contributing an audio recording to be used in the PSAs, MA members have the opportunity to help reach addicts who are still suffering from their addiction.
The goal of this project is to create three PSA videos of approximately 3-4 minutes in length. The audio portion will consist of edited audio clips of MA members answering a specific question for each video. The visual portion will consist of stock footage. The type of stock footage is still to be determined.
We would like to collect recordings for three different PSAs.The questions that we would like people to respond to, and the themes of the PSAs, are:
1. How did you know you had a problem with marijuana?
2. Do you think marijuana is addictive?
3. How has the MA program helped you?

Back issues of "A New Leaf" Newsletter are available here. The purpose of "A New Leaf", the monthly Marijuana Anonymous newsletter, is to carry the message of recovery from marijuana addiction. It is through the written experiences of recovering addicts and their stories that we may find experience, strength and hope. Articles submitted should reflect recovery, unity and service.
Sometimes people gather on the MAWPM phone line at 4:20 EST for fellowship. Stop by if you’d like for unstructured conversation. If you call in at 4:20, please stay on the line for at least 5 minutes to increase the chance of connecting with others.
MA World Services is developing a pen pal program that will involve MA members, with a year or more sobriety, being paired with an inmate who needs to share experience, strength & hope. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
At last contact, the pen pal program was struggling with accessing facilities, so if this is something you would like to help out with, please email the H&I committee to see what they need.
Members of the World Services Correspondence committee are often "the face of MA", as we are responding to phone and email inquiries on a daily basis. We are looking for a few good listeners, especially those who have the time to help take live calls. If you have at least 6 months clean and sober, a working knowledge of the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions, are comfortable sharing your experience, strength and hope with others, and want to serve newcomers to strengthen your own recovery, please send a letter of interest to email@example.com.
There is also the website mar-anon.com which offers hope for those affected by another person’s marijuana use. Mar-anon is a separate organization from Marijuana Anonymous.
There will be a Mar-Anon mini convention on October 7 from 3-6PM PST the same weekend as the MA Convention in San Diego.
